2 Weeks and 384 Warmer Kids!

We are only two weeks into our “Coats for Kids” campaign, and we have already cleaned and donated 384 coats!!! Check out these Model-cleaned coats headed off to the Salvation Army and to your local school district!

A small sample of the coats collected, but they look like NEW heading off to their NEW homes!

Drum Roll please…. Going from 5th to 1st place with 109 coats donated and a .078 coats/student ratio is….. Upper St. Clair! Way to come from behind USC! Keep it up!

We still have 7 weeks left! Keep those coats coming! Let’s see if USC can stay on top or if week 3 will bring a change in the leader board.

Please remember, if your local school district is not participating in this competition, coats can be dropped off at any one of Model Cleaner’s 12 locations. See our location page to find your closest Model store.

Model Cleaners Coats For Kids School District Week 1 Standings

The results for week 1 are as follows for the five participating School Districts involved in the Model Cleaners Coats for Kids Contest.

charleroi-coat-bin-full-week-1 — 13 Coats were donated at Charleroi Area School District on Friday October 14th

Overall 94 coats were collected on Friday October 14th,2016. Belle Vernon Area School District has taken an early lead with a 0.015 Coats donated Per Student ratio, with Peters Twp just trailing in 2nd place at 0.010 Coats donated per Student ratio. There are still 8 weeks left, please spread the word to family and friends about this worthy cause to keep kids warm this winter!!

Model Cleaners Launches “Coats for Kids” Coat Drive with Local School Districts

In the spirit of Model Cleaners local roots and passion for community outreach, Model Cleaners will launch the 1st Annual Model Cleaners “Coats for Kids” coat drive in conjunction with local schools and the Salvation Army beginning October 10th through December 9th, 2016. Each participating school will be provided with a labeled Model Cleaners plastic bin as the collection point for the coats. All of the coats donated by the student body (either child or adult size) will be cleaned by Model Cleaners then donated to the local Salvation Army offices. The coat drive provided by Model will help local families in need stay warm before the winter time.

Model Cleaners helps raise over $1600 for March of Dimes “March for Babies” organization

Team Model had set a goal to raise $1,500 and once again, we surpassed all expectations raising $1,647 for the March of Dimes “March for Babies” organization. Thank you to our Model family members and loyal customers for your donations toward this worthy cause!!

Help Model Cleaners “Share the Warmth” for the 27th consecutive year

For the past 27 years Model Cleaners, and through the help of our loyal customers and our Model team members- Model has donated over 150,000 coats to the Local Pittsburgh Salvation Army in an effort to help keep needy adults and children warm over the cold Pittsburgh winter months. Check the Western Pa Salvation Army organization here!

Please help with this tradition this winter! From November 23rd thru December 14th– all of our 13 Model Cleaners locations have coat donation bins set up in our customer pickup and drop off areas.

By donating a coat you can save big with the cleaning of your coat, here’s how–

When you donate a coat at any one of our Model locations we will clean one of “your” coats at 40% off. (Valid with incoming coats only. Valid at all Model locations. Discount is not valid with leather and suede coats or with any kind of alteration. Offer expires December 14th, 2015)

Model Raises $5,000 for Breast Cancer Awareness

Model Cleaners along with its sister company Fussy Cleaners in Akron Ohio recently raised $5,000 for Breast Cancer Awareness.

Over 100 Model family members will be walking in support for Breast Cancer Awareness on Saturday October 10th at Model’s home town in Charleroi, Pa to support of such a worthy cause.

Model’s Upper St Clair Location set to Help the Hungry!

Model Cleaners wants our customers and community to know “You are appreciated!”

Model Cleaners Upper St. Clair location is located at 1744 Washington Rd, Pittsburgh, Pa 15241. Model will be sponsoring a “Customer Appreciation Day!!” on Wednesday, October 22nd, 2014 in an effort to give back to our loyal customers and community.

All Customers entering our Upper St Clair location that day will receive 10% off discount on all incoming orders. Free hot coffee and treats will be available for all customers that visit us.

Food Drive kicks off at all Model Cleaners Locations!!

Another example of “giving back” from the Model Cleaners family is set to take place over the next three months

Model Cleaners, is holding its 1st annual canned good food drive from September 15th thru November 15th in an effort to feed the hungry during the Holiday months.

Here is how you can help:

When you donate a canned non-perishable food item to any one of our 14 Model Cleaners locations, you will receive 10% off your next incoming cleaning order.
Our goal is to collect 2,500 canned goods by November 15th to help feed the hungry over the holidays.
All canned good donations will be picked up by our Model Cleaners pickup and delivery trucks and delivered to the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank before Thanksgiving. [Read more…]
