Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber and Model Cleaners announce the ribbon cutting and grand opening of Model Cleaners 13^th facility in Cranberry, PA

The Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber and Model Cleaners will host a ribbon cutting and grand opening at the Model Cleaners newest facility in Cranberry on Thursday, May 21^st from 4:00pm–5:30pm.  The state of the art GreenEarth environmentally friendly fabric care center offers same day dry-cleaning service, free pickup and delivery service and is located at 1187 Freedom Road, Cranberry.

Founded in 1986, Model Cleaners is Pittsburgh’s largest family owned dry- cleaning operation with 13 dry-cleaning locations and free pickup and delivery services to 70 communities in Western Pennsylvania. Model Cleaners is the leading provider of home/office pickup and delivery service in the region, with half of their business coming from their free pickup and delivery service.

Model Cleaners has built their business on family values since Jack LaCarte opened their first store 30 years ago. Raised on a cattle farm in Indiana, PA, Jack has always worked seven days a week to support his family. It was always Jacks vision to own a family business, and he first executed this vision by putting his family to work on their farm. Due to the economic instability of the 1970’s, the farm was forced to shut down and Jack moved his family to Charleroi, PA to seek other opportunities. Jack continued with his goal and opened a small dry cleaning shop in Charleroi, naming it Model Cleaners.

Jack continues the tradition through his five sons, John, Mike, Dave, Joe and Dan who are now all part owners of the business. You can also find wives, cousins, sisters and brothers alike all working to help better the family business. Model started with 5 employees and now   employs over 300 people across their 13 facilities and home delivery service.

Today, Model is a much diversified company along with the dry-cleaning division, Model operates a Uniform Rental division (www.modeluniforms.com), a Model Apparel division (www.modelapparel.com) for companies looking to enhance the image of their employees along with a real estate development division.

Not only does Model Cleaners value family and their customers, but they also value the environment, and work hard to ensure they have an eco-friendly and green presence in the community. Model Cleaners utilizes GreenEarth Cleaning Technology at their new state of the art environmentally friendly facility in Cranberry.  GreenEarth is an exclusive dry cleaning process that replaces petrochemical solvents traditionally used in dry cleaning with liquid silicone. The liquid silicone is derived from natural sand byproducts and is an odorless, colorless, solution that has ideal properties for fabric care. The EPA also recognizes the product as safe for air, soil and water. In addition to being environmentally safe, the solution is non-allergenic and non-irritating to your skin and can be found in common household shampoos and lotions.

You all are truly amazing!!! Model Cleaners is proud to announce,that through the generosity of our customers and the hard work of our employees, we donated over 1,100 pounds of food to the Greater Pittsburgh Area Food Bank.

In addition, Model also donated $1,017 from the Customer Appreciation Days at our various locations in September, October, and November to the Greater Pittsburgh Area Food Bank. Model Cleaners donates $1 for every piece of clothing brought into our stores during the Customer Appreciation day at our various store locations. The donation will go a long way to help those who are need of a warm meal this holiday season. We appreciate your business and generosity in helping us fulfill our mission statement. “ To Care for our Customers, Community, and Others like Family!!!”.
